The NDAA and It's War on the Bill of RIghts
By Susan Steffen-Kraft
Only 13 Senators had the guts and smarts to vote against the NDAA in 201r. Here are the names of the 13 Senators who voted against the Bill.
Dick Durbin (D-Ill.),
Ben Cardin (D-Md.),
Al Franken (D-Minn.),
Tom Harkin (D-Iowa),
Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.),
Ron Wyden (D-Ore.),
Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.),
Jim Risch (R-Idaho),
Rand Paul (R-Ky.),
Mike Lee (R-Utah),
Jim DeMint (R-S.C.),
Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) and
Tom Coburn (R-Okla.).
Oregon and Idaho were the only two states where both Senators voted against the NDAA!
Now you might ask what is wrong with the NDAA! Especially considering that many Republicans voted for it and even a few Conservative ones. Fair enough question!
It violates our basic freedoms found in the Bill of Rights. It gives the military rights to hold people they consider terrorists in secret and indefinitely. There is no recourse to a lawyer, counsel, and or right to a trial. And that folks is what they are doing to our Bill of Rights.
I have no clue why some conservatives are being fooled by this piece of garbage bill. It passed the last time and now once again it passed.

THANK-YOU IDAHO!
The above video was for 2013, but now the 2914 bill has passed and since then one Congressman from Idaho has changed and voted for the 2014 bill that was passed. Congressman Mike Simpson was the one and if you think I did not call and give him a piece of my mind you would be wrong. I certainly hope he can explain his brain freeze moment.
As for the other 3 Congressmen from Idaho; they still stuck to their guns and voted against this dastardly piece of legislation. In other words, anyone who voted for this screwed the American people over. Several articles have information on this including Freedom Outpost.
This new more frightening version combines our governments constant surveillance of innocent American citizens and the detention of anyone labeled an enemy of this regime. Bad enough we have the Patriot Act and don't get me started on that piece of legislation. I will write about that another time.
Your phone records, e-mails browsing history, text messages and your social media posts would be what would be termed "captured records!" The NSA would be one of the federal surveillance's seizing all this information and passing it on to the Conflict Research Process Center which has been created by this bill. Is that frightening to you, because it is to me?
Impeach the President many of you say. Hell, impeach the whole government! At least those who vote for the NDAA every time it comes up. They have just made it possible to target anyone who disagrees with the government. Home of the Free; that is gradually going away. Think Indefinite Detention instead!
According to Ted Cruz "our most basic rights as American citizens are not protected!"
Are there a couple good items in this bill. Yes, and even Ted Cruz added a couple provisions including an "independent investigation into reports of religious discrimination against troop sharing their faith", and "one insisting on improved assistance for widows of troops killed in combat!" From Info. Wars
Now if that was all the bill was about I could go along with that but alas that is not so.
Now for the below names of those who insisted on supporting this and the 15 who said NO. Two more then last time. I can only assume that a few on the list that are normally sane thinking Senators were either drunk, on drugs at that moment, they were uninformed and or did not read the bill, or just were plain stupid at that moment. I have no proof they were bribed or blackmailed although that happens many times also.

Even Chris Anders of the ACLU has said, "The sponsors of the bill monkeyed around with a few minor details, but all of the core dangers remain - the bill authorizes the president to order the military to indefinitely imprison without charge or trial American citizens and others found far from any battlefield, even in the United States itself." Ah yes, my friends, we should weep, for the Bill of Rights is in shambles and we allowed it.
Do you even realize that the first 10 amendments to the Bill of Rights were demanded by our Founding Fathers. This was before they would accept the Constitution even. Now, there must be a reason for that.
Amendment 4 is now squashed because it demands that there are no unreasonable searches and seizures and probable cause must be established. Sounds like a good idea to me. Amendment 6 allows for a speedy trial plus charge, council and witnesses. This too is now squashed by the NDAA menace. Next the NDAA has no problem with indefinitely detaining you and also allows cruel and unusual punishment. This is opposite of what Amendment 8 puts forth.
There is nothing good that can come of this! Again we go to Chris Anders of the ACLU, who says that "based on suspicion alone, no place and no person are off=limits to military dentention without charge or trial."
The bill also contains provisions making it difficult to transfer suspects out of military detention, which prompted Robert Mueller of the FBI to testify that criminal investigations could be jeopardized. This also from the ACLU courtesy of The Rising Tide Blog Spot!
We are headed straight to dictatorship authored by both Democrats and Republicans.

On Dec. 15th, we celebrated 220 years of the Bill of Rights. But because of this vote to the date exactly, it is now a Dark Day for America. Our Founding Fathers would weep at what has taken place.
We are losing our rights and it is a disgrace. The country gets side lined with things like the Duck Dynasty issues on the rights to say what you want about an issue plus the sensationalism of the moment and I get that. But cannot We the People concentrate on more then one thing at once. The politicians seem to sense that people cannot or will not do that.
People sit on their couch and watch all the networks spew out the latest on one sensational issue after another. That is all many can see or think about. The Media senses this and although Fox and others did some coverage of the NDAA and other things it is mostly about the sensational ratings and stories that catch attention.
When you start demanding to hear more about the things that are going on in Congress right now and what is currently being voted on the media will show that also.
How far we have fallen and justice lies in the street! Who will stand up and say Enough is Enough and No More! This is my country, Home of the Free and the Brave and I want it back!
William Wallace was known for his Scottish Battle Cry
"FREEDOM"!
He also proclaimed
"Albu Gu Bra" which means "Scotland Forever"!
Can we say any less about this Country!
America Forever!
