China Through D.D.'s Lens - Shenyang : Christmas In August By Song Sai Quan And The Shenyang Soul Shakers

This is D.D. speaking. One of the things I love best about my owner's , Spaced Teacher , job is that we get about 18 weeks of PAID vacation every year. This give us quite an opportunity to explore China. Since it's currently the summer break we decided to take a short and close vacation to Shenyang , Liaoning Province , China. Shenyang is the capital of Liaoning is generally thought of us a stopover on the way to Dalian which is far more exotic. Shenyang however is not without it's charms. You'll see some of them below.

 There is a small park behind the American Consulate in Shenyang that is a haven for some of the more Chronologically Advanced local Chinese people to indulge in their local cultures. One day S.T. and I just happened to be walking through this park when we stumbled upon an impromptu outdoor concert by the Legendary Song Sai Quan And The Shenyang Soul Shakers. These local Chinese folks are very fond of Americans so they were quite honored by my presence and showed it by playing this song. Imagine my surprise at hearing this in China in the middle of freaking August. Song Sai Quan certainly has a sense of style. lol
