As many of you know last Thanksgiving I had a life threatening sickness which brought me to Death's Door. I'm pleased to tell you all that thanks to the Doctors , Nurses , Paramedics and Allied Healthcare professionals of St. Luke's Hospital I was able to cheat The Grim Reaper THIS time. I wish I could say that my post emergency care was this good but sadly it wasn't. This current system could find no way to get me simple high blood pressure medication that I could have easily paid for out of my pocket. The reason for this was because I refused to pay $ 300.00 to visit my assigned primary care Dr. to get a prescription that had already been written while I was in the hospital and simply needed to be refilled. As those of you that have health care experience know diabetics are subject to all sorts of other diseases as a consequence of their condition. Two of the more serious of these complications are stress and high blood pressure. I'd like to ask you all two questions now. Had I had a stroke as a result of this system not being able to find a way to get me $ 3.00 high blood pressure medication that I easily could have paid for out of pocket who would have paid the medical bills for this uninsured American. You guessed it you taxpayers would have . This whole scenario seems a bit shortsighted to me over a $ 3.00 blood pressure medication just because I refused to pay Dr. No $ 300.00 for the courtesy of him refilling my prescription. I'll give you a minute to digest those facts before I ask you my second question. Time's up. My question is as follows : Is this medical system the one you want in charge of the ebola situation in America with no government oversight or direction ? If you answered yes I submit that you have way too much faith in this system. Do you really believe that money will not be a prime consideration in whether or not you'll get the vaccine? Knowing that some of you are just too damn stubborn for your own good and that some of you are slaves of The P.C. Gods allow me to present a few other facts for your consideration.
Dr. Nancy Snyderman who had contact with ebola patients in Liberia who admirably self quarantined herself then proceeded to break that quarantine in spite of all her medical training and knowledge has not been disciplined for her bad medical judgement and dangerous behavior. I can hear you from here saying that a highly educated lady such as her must have had a damn good reason to do so. Apparently she thought so. She needed a pizza and damn the risk of giving ebola however unintentionally to anybody she came in contact with. Why in God's name this woman still has a medical license is a mystery to me. How unethical do you need to behave to get your medical license suspended.
Dr. Craig Spencer much like Dr. Snyderman also had contact with ebola patients while treating them in Liberia but unlike Dr. Snyderman he didn't even have the ethics to self quarantine instead he self monitored. Since he had no fever he decided to go for a night on the town. About twelve hours later he noticed that he had a fever and went to the hospital. He is currently in quarantine at Bellevue Hospital in NYC . Could one of you please tell me why the family of the poor bastard that God forbid catches ebola as a result of Dr. Spencer's jaunt to the bowling alley shouldn't be able to sue Dr. Spencer and NYC for every freaking dime they have? How would you like to be the one to tell Poor Bastard's family that he died from the ebola that he caught from an infected Dr. while bowling? Once again it's a mystery to me why this miscreant is allowed to keep his medical license?
Nurse Kaci Hickox also like the two Drs. treated ebola victims in Liberia. She is currently defying the state of Maine's quarantine of her. To the best of my knowledge the State Of Maine as of the writing of this story has dispatched State Troopers to enforce the quarantine. In my opinion this is the right thing to do. Nurse Hickox's reasons for defying the quarantine are that she is asymptomatic and that the quarantine violates her civil rights. Basically she is saying that " the science " is with her. Well frankly Kaci considering how wrong the CDC and " the science " have been so far I don't give a damn if you're asymptomatic a 21 day quarantine is a prudent policy to make 100 % certain that you don't have ebola especially when considering that " the science " says that any time during that 21 day period a patient can develop ebola. As for Nurse Hickox's civil rights being violated let me be the first to inform all involved that MY right to continue breathing trumps her right not to suffer " the indignity " of a 21 day quarantine.
The arrogance of these medical " professionals " knows no limits.
The very same government that is telling you now that " the science " regarding the ebola virus supports their policies told you 20 or so years ago that AIDS could only be spread certain ways. Did that turn out to be the case then? If not then why should we trust them now? Who among you would like to be the next Kimberly Bergalis? I would also remind you that " the science " tells us that virtually all viruses by nature mutate rapidly and at will. Can the CDC assure us that this virus won't mutate in some dangerous way such as becoming airborne. I've already read some very reputable scientists that say under certain conditions ebola can spread via the air. Do you really want to risk sitting next to some West African tourist or God forbid an unethical American Dr. or Nurse with a cold or perhaps something far more dangerous on the train?
Have a nice day
